Happy Anniversary to US
Last year March 1, 2018, I officially opened the brick and mortar location that is Balance Me Yoga. I had been teaching yoga for over four years at that time, our community was growing and we really needed a yoga home. I hesitated many times in making the commitment, it was scary, here I am putting myself out there not just for the financial responsibility but the emotional connection to being vulnerable, would I succeed, would yogis find our little slice of peace, would they like it?
It has been quite the year of change, growth, learning, so much learning as I’ve made this shift from yoga teacher to new yoga studio owner. I have learned so much as a business owner, yes having a yoga studio is - owning a business, not something I had really planned on doing. I was very content sharing yoga and Ayurveda with the yogis I had come to know over the years but things change and here I was needing a yoga home for so many. That’s how the physical location came to be.
Today, as I sit reflecting on this transition from yoga teacher to yoga studio owner, I am so very thankful for every being that has come through our door. Each in their way, taught me a lesson, some lessons were super easy, some not so much. Either way, it’s a change that I in time, have gratefully embraced. I’ve referred to myself over this past year as the reluctant studio owner as this was not truly my intent but as a wise yogi friend of mine recently said, “The Universe provides.”
I sit humbly and eternally grateful to this wonderful community that is so very welcoming to each and every person that has graced our doorway. Happy anniversary to us, our community, for without each of you Balance Me Yoga would not exist.
